Aarti of Gurchand গুরুচাঁদের আরতি

                      গুরুচাঁদের  আরতি 

নমঃজাতির বিদ্যার অধিকার 

দেয়নি'কো মা সরস্বতী,

যিনি দিয়েছেন সেই অধিকার 

আগে সেই গুরুচাঁদের করো আরতি! 

দু' কলম যে লিখতে পারছি 

বাবা গুরুচাঁদের প্রচেষ্টায়,

মা সরস্বতী তখন ছিল বন্দী 

বামুনদের খাঁচায়! 

বামুনদের বিদ্যা-বুদ্ধি সবকিছু দেয় 

নমঃরা পায় না তার এক রতি! 

নমঃজাতি প'ড়ে বেকায়দায় 

ধরে বাবা গুরুচাঁদের পায়, 

বাবা তুমি রক্ষা করো 

বাতলে দাও একটা উপায়! 

বাবা গুরুচাঁদ সিদ্ধান্ত দেয়

লেখাপড়া শেখাও সন্তান-সন্ততি! 

কিন্তু বামুনদের ঐ স্কুল-কলেজে 

নমঃদের মোটে ঢুকতে দেয় না যে, 

শূদ্র বোলে দূরে ঠেলে দেয় 

তাড়িয়ে দেয় ক্ষুদ্র সমাজে! 

মা সরস্বতী বিদ্যাদান করে বামুনদের মাঝে

নমঃরা থাকে আট ভাগেতে বিভক্তি! 

বাবা গুরুচাঁদ বলছেন ডেকে 

উঠে পড় ঘুমিয়ে না থেকে, 

আলোকিত হ' দলে-দলে 

শিক্ষার আলোকে! 

নিজেরা গড় স্কুল-কলেজ ভূলোকে

তবে তোদের মিলবে মুক্তি! 

গুরুচাঁদ ঠাকুর উদ্যোগ নিয়ে 

নিজের হাতে দিলো স্কুল-কলেজ বানিয়ে, 

নমঃশূদ্র বিদ্যা পেলো সেদিন 

ঐ বামুনদের হটিয়ে! 

সেদিন কোথায় ছিল মা সরস্বতী লুকায়ে 

বাবা গুরুচাঁদ যেদিন জ্বাললো জ্ঞানের বাতি! 

গোঁসাই ক্ষিতীশ ভেবে কয় 

আগে পূজা দাও গুরুচাঁদের পায়, 

এই ব্রহ্মাণ্ডে নমঃশূদ্রের দেবতা কেবল

হরি-গুরুচাঁদ হয়! 

শ্রীকান্ত বিদ্যা পেলি যাহার কৃপায় 

সেই গুরুপদে রাখো মতি!
